Nails Inc Feathers Henley

So it's a Snow Day today!!! Yay! I'm back home in the warm and enjoying myself, what an awesome way to start the week!

Anyway, I have some more Nails Inc from their recent TSV to show you and today it's Feathers! This feathers effect is pretty new to Nails Inc and the one I have to show you is called Henley and is an exclusive shade to QVC. They have said it's the only one which is not going to be a matte glitter so that's pretty interesting.

Now, I would say that these feather effects are really just fine bar glitter in a clear base. I don't generally love bar glitter however I really do quite like Henley and I didn't expect to. Henley has black, silver and copper glitters and for these swatches I used one coat over the base colour. It does dry quite gritty and I did find that some of the strands did stick up so a few layers of topcoat are a must.

Anyway, here it is layered over GOSH Nero:
I liked this, but the only problem is that you can't see the black glitters.

See how pretty the copper glitters are:

In the TSV we also got Campden Hill Road and despite the fact that I own tons of pinks I don't own one this colour, I really like it. Now you can see the black glitters, pretty combination.

One of the other colours in the TSV which they call a 'trend shade' is Royal Botanical Gardens. Apparently it's being released in March. Doesn't it scream spring?! I adore it.

So, that's it. What do you think about the Feather Effects? I can't wait to see what the next auto delivery holds........

Nails Inc Leather Effect Shoreditch Lane

Happy Sunday everyone! We have had snow all day and it's been beautiful, I just love the snow. The streets are white and the houses covered and I stayed in all day watching it all and drinking hot chocolate in front of the fire. What could be better than that?!

I received my Nails Inc QVC TSV yesterday and so straight away had to put on the new leather effects polish which was included. Now, I will be the first to say I haven't really been too excited like everyone else seems to have been about this effect and if it hadn't been included in the TSV I wouldn't have purchased on on it's own. However they are such great value that I thought why not??

So here we have the Nails Inc leather effect polish called Shoreditch Lane. It is a sort of light burgandy colour and apparently it is being released by Nails Inc on the 1st March.

For these swatches I used a base coat, 1 coat of polish and that was it. The first time I tried it I used two coats and found that I just didn't get the leather effect on most of the nail so I redid it and found that the polish dried much faster and hence the leather effect made an appearance.

I did find this polish hard to work with as it is really quite thick and my brush wasn't as even as it should have been. I am not a big fan of Nails Inc handles so that probably didn't help much either.....

So, does it look like leather? I don't know to be honest. It is textured and it was quite rough on the nail, my husband touched it and said 'Yuck!'. I don't really know what to think of it but the fact that I took it off after a few hours becuase I wanted to play with the remover probably says it all. It was ok but just not really for me, it kinda reminds me of roughing up your nails when your topcoat isn't dry and you have to go to bed......

What do you think?

Enchanted Polish Daydream Surprise

Oh have I got a treat for you today!

Yesterday I got my very much awaited Enchanted Polish order from New Year's Day. I picked it up at the post office and raced home to open it, only to find in my ordering panic that I had got 4 of the new Carebear collection and 2 dupes but no Freeze Machine!  Oh the elation and disappointment...... I also felt a bit bad that 2 people who had been trying to get my dupes missed out. Well, I've already swapped them for some other Enchanted's that I didn't have so it's all worked out well in the end. I'll be stalking Llarowe so I can complete my collection.

So firstly all the polishes in this collection (that I have anyway) are absolutely stunning. Really, the whole collection is beautiful and I can't wait to show you the rest, but first up is Daydream Surprise. I chose to layer this over OPI Roadhouse Blues because I wanted all of the amazing shimmer and beautiful glitters to pop.

This mani was done using 2 coats of Roadhouse Blues (my favourite ever blue creme) and 1 coat of Enchanted Polish Daydream Surprise. I found it a little stickier than most of my other glitters but really that was a good thing becuase it allowed me to get a really good coverage of the glitter and shimmer in one go. I topped it off with a coat of Gelous (which it probably didn't need) and a coat of HK Girl. This mani is even more sparkly in real life and there are tons of layering combinations I can't wait to try out.

A total win for me and I am in love. I can't wait to try the rest!

Will you look at that shimmer???

Enchanted Polish Witchful Thinking

First off, this is a bit like torture because I don't actually own this polish! My awesome friend let me borrow it becuase she said it was so pretty I had to try it. I am posting this to celebrate the arrival of a package from Enchanted... so I might have something new to show ou tomorrow......

Now when I saw the bottle I wasn't really that impressed. It was pretty but it didn't knock me over if you know what I mean. I absolutely adore Enchanted Polish, and I missed out on the Halloween collection because I was getting married and on honeymoon (I guess it was worth it!). Well, when I put it on the nail, what a different story.

I would describe Enchanted Polish Witchful Thinking as a mix of pink and copper glitters in a clear base with a green holo micro-glitter, it really is pretty.

I wanted to use a dark base and I wanted something to show off the green micro-glitter in the polish so I chose OPI Live and Let Die from the Bond Collection. This was 2 coats and 2 coats of Enchanted Polish Witchful Thinking.

These pictures were taken before I got my lights and lightbox, I had to stand in the freezing cold in Costco car park with people staring at me! Hence they are not the best of photo's. I have been searching for someone to sell this polish to me and I might have got a lead, fingers crossed..... If I do then I'll re-swatch it and do it justice. In the meantime, it is still really pretty, despite my lack of skills.

See that gorgeous green holo microglitter. Beautiful!
