Make some room in your Helmers, there's a new kid on the indie block and guess what? It's a British indie!
Iconic Effect will be releasing their first collection on Wednesday 12th June at 7pm GMT and I was lucky enough to be sent 3 of these beauties to review for you. Firstly let me say, they are all absolutely gorgeous and we are all in for a real treat! Iconic Polish Etsy shop can be found here.
Iconic Effect is the hard work of the lovely Kelly and Kerry, you can see the Facebook page here. The bottle are a good 15ml size and the polish is 3 free. Prices should be £6.50 each, which is quite a bargain for us here in the UK.
OK, on to the pictures, which i know is what you have all been waiting for.....
Firstly, just look at this cute design!
OK, first up is Iconic Effect Psychedelic Snarl. This polish is a beautiful shimmery blue with magenta circle glitter and tiny round glitters. For this swatch I used 3 coats on it's own with one layer of Cult Nails Wicked Fast topcoat.
I couldn't decide whether to layer this one or not so I thought I'd show you what it was like plain on it's own. I think next time I wear this I'll layer it over a darker blue, I think the shimmer would really show. This polish was easy to apply and the formula good.
Next up is Princess Drops, this is a beautiful glitter topper. It actually reminds me of the type of polishes Lynnderella is famous for. This is so soft and pretty with pale pink, blue and purple glitters, there are even a few stars and hearts thrown in for good measure.
I decided to layer this polish over OPI You're Such A Budapest, I used one coat of Princess Drops here for this coverage. I used 2 coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast to smooth things out but really it would have benefitted from a layer of Gelous for perfection.
Again, this one was easy to work with a great formula.
Those little dots look like topcoat bubbles but in real life you couldn't see them, they are actually little glitters which sparkle in the light.
Last but not least is Pea Soup. This is a gorgeous mint green creme with tiny magenta glitter, bright pink hex's and small green hex's. I used 3 coats for this mani and had good coverage. I did have to swirl the brush around a bit to get the larger glitters but I had a mini bottle and I'm guessing it might be a bit easier with a bigger bottle. I had loads of compliments on this polish and rightfully so.
Look at those glitters! Gorgeous.
All in all I loved these polishes and I can't wait to see the other treats in store for us.
Make sure you grab yours when you can.

Jindie Nails Electric Grape
Happy Monday my lovelies!
Today I have a beautiful polish to show you, one which has been sitting in it's file waiting to be posted for far too long. In fact, I bought my only Jindie's around Christmas and I absolutely loved them when I got them. I put them in their drawer and you know what it's like..... you mean to wear them but more nail mail arrives and you get caught up. In fact, by the time I wore this polish I didn't expect I would love it that much, boy was I wrong.
Jindie Nails Electric Grape is described as a neon purple jelly with an electric blue micro shimmer throughout. For this mani I used 3 coats and a layer of HK Girl topcoat. It was a little sheer and I still had a little bit of VNL but really it wasn't too bad. I could have layered it or used a 4th coat but I really liked it as it is.
This is one of those polishes that glows. It did get some tip wear within a day which didn't really bother me but if you wanted to keep it on for a while you might need to layer it.

OPI DS Sensation
So today I have an oldie but a goodie for you, it's one of the old OPI DS polishes from back in the day when they used to make them really good and most of us hadn't cottoned on to that yet!
I managed to snag this beauty BNIB on ebay a while ago, one day I'd really love to complete my DS collection, I've got a way to go so we'll see......
This bright and bold beauty is OPI DS Sensation. Before you get too disappointed it's not one of the holo's these collections are famous for, it's a beautiful hot pink polish with hints of orange and a blue glass fleck running through it.
The formula was pretty thin, I used 4 coats for this mani and in real life I could still see a little VNL, it's a really vibrant and pretty polish though so I didn't mind that at all. I wore this mani for several days, it would be such a pretty pedi colour!

Ninja Polish Divinity
Happy Memorial Day for those of you celebrating in the US, in the UK we've had a bank holiday today so it's a short week for us too!
Today I have for you Ninja Polish Divinity from the Enigma collection. This polish contains colour shifting pigments and sparkle. It is modelled on the likes of the famous Clarins 230 and Max Factor Fantasy Fire but it can be worn alone without undies.
I took the some of these pictures below in the light box which really didn't show much colour shifting but I wanted you to see the polish in this light because it does show some of the colour shifting which was really hard to capture.
For these swatches I used 2 coats of Divinity and one coat of HK Girl topcoat, make sure you scroll down further for more pictures and a comparison.
Look at that bottle shot! Unfortunately I never got quite so much colour shift on my nails.
These pictures were taken outside in the daylight, very little colour shifting but lots of sparkle
I think the most colour shift I got from this polish was in low light which meant it was really hard to capture. You can see some green shift in this picture but in real life it was more apparent.
OK, so I am luck enough to also own Max Factor Fantasy Fire and Clarins 230 so I thought I would show you a quick comparison. I swatched Fantasy Fire and Clarins 230 over black, as you can see Divinity is quite different, even over black.
Fantasy Fire and Clarins 230 are very very similar and I felt that Divinity just lacked the depth of the other 2. I know it's not supposed to be a dupe but for us in the UK where Fantasy Fire is plentiful I probably wouldn't bother with Divinity. It's one of those polishes that I probably would really have loved if I didn't already own something even more incredible.
Oh, look at that Clarins....... I still haven't worn it for a full mani as I'm too scared!
Which do you like best??

Enchanted Polish December 2012
I have a rather special polish to show you today.... and of course it's an Enchanted!
December 2012 was a special release by Chelsea and it was the first of her monthly polishes. When it was released I missed out on it because it was announced on Instagram and I really wasn't up to speed with all that then. However, I was really lucky to 'win' it on one of the auctions on one of the nail polish groups, and since then it's become almost impossible to find.
I picked this beauty up when I went to see my Dad in California in March and I immediately put it on, knowing it might be my only shot at sunshine for a while! I brought back a TON of polishes in my suit cases and I was worried something might happen to them on the way, I knew at least if I wore this while it was in my hands then I had had a chance to enjoy it at least once. Luckily all my polishes made it home safe and sound to see another day.
Enchanted Polish December 2012 speaks for itself. It is an absolutely stunning saturated colour. For these pictures I used 2 coats but in fact I am pretty sure I could have got away with just one. Please forgive the less than ideal pictures and application. I was in a hurry to wear it and when I took these pictures I was standing in the car park of Philippe's restaurant (they do the best French Dipped Sandwiches btw) just before leaving for the airport to come back home.
I will most certainly be wearing this one again and next time I promise better pictures.
Oh, I thought I hadn't shown you any pictures of Miagi lately, here is my lovely angel giving me a cuddle when I was really tired with jet lag. Gotta love him!
