KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie

I'm back! Sorry I haven't been posting for the last couple of weeks. Do you ever just not feel like doing something? Well, when it comes to polish I rarely have that feeling but lately I just haven't felt like posting. I've had this post in my drafts for at least a week and a half and I've been painting my nails and making a few swaps and purchases which has all been fun but I've enjoyed taking a little break. I'm never going to be a big blogger and I do this for fun, which I hope comes across in my blog, so I've got plenty of posts for fun waiting for you, I just have to edit the photo's first!!

Anyway, today I have a polish I bought at Christmas and am only just getting around to wearing. KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie is a purple jelly with tons of beautiful glitters floating about. The thing I love about this polish is the vibrancy of the colours, the hot pink and lime green glitters really make this polish a stand out for me.

For this swatch I used 3 coats of Sugar Plum Faerie and 2 coats of HK Girl topcoat. Despite all the glitters the formula was really nice and easy to apply and the polish wore really well, if I remember right I think i had it on for 3 days.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, I have something I have been wearing all weekend and it's so stunning it's killed me to take it off for work tomorrow.

KBShimmer Snow Way

Happy Hump Day! Is it just me or is the week going by fast??

Today I have a mani from just before Christmas when I had broken my middle nail and had to nub them all down. I also got my new lights and light box so was just starting to play around and these were the first photo's I took. They sat in the album because I was to lazy to edit them but here they are now.

KBShimmer is a brand I hadn't tried yet, that was until their Christmas collection came out, and gorgeous it was! In fact I think it was the best Christmas collection out there.

This mani was done 3 coats of KBShimmer Snow Way. You can see Snow Way has a sky blue base with various sized white glitters. It also has tiny iridescent glitters which remind me of that sparkle you get with newly fallen snow. I couldn't get those iridescent glitters to show on the nail which really was a shame but as you can see from the bottle shot below, there certainly were there!

This polish applied a bit thick for me, I did like it but as my nails were shorter I think it kinda gave them a lumpy look. I probably should have waited with this one till they were a bit longer. Oh well, it's still pretty.....

Boxing Day Mani - KBShimmer Wrappers Delight, Glitzology Snow Day and Layla Cermamic Effect Killing Red

Happy Boxing Day!

Do you know what boxing day actually is? I thought it was the day we 'boxed' up our gifts, were lazy and ate leftovers from the day before and in the last few years started with the sales again. However I did a little research and found that boxing day was traditionally the day that tradesmen came to collect 'Christmas boxes' of money or goods as thanks for their services throughout the year and also the day that servants had off to spend with their own families, they would take boxes of gifts and/or leftover food with them.

Anyway, I did get some polishes for Christmas, our birthday group had a secret santa which I got to open yesterday and waiting inside was Glitzology Snow Day and Layla Ceramic Effects Killing Red (53). I love them both and had to use them immediately!

For this mani I used 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow on the middle and ring finger with a coat of Glitzology Snow Day on the top and 2 coats of Layla Killing Red. Just to Christmas it up a bit, and because I needed to use this polish before the season ends, I used KBShimmer Wrappers Delight as an accent on the ring finger.

All polishes had a great formula I did find Snow Day a bit think and I will add some thinner next time I use it. I have 3 Glitzology polishes on their way to me from the recent sale so I'm interested to see how they compare.

I really liked this mani and the green/blue shimmer in Snow Day is beautiful, I didn't manage to capture it all on camera but if you don't already have a similar polish to this I would certainly recommend it! To top it off I used one coat of HK Girl topcoat and it was pretty smooth.

Can you see those little bubbles? I really don't know how they got there. Maybe I layered my topcoat on a bit too think? But can you see that shimmer? So pretty!

Isn't this just the most Christmassy polish? I also love that Christy gave the proceeds from this polish to Toys for Tots so really this was a charity contribution!
