Lynnderella Do You See What I See?

Happy weekend everyone!

It's Sunday night and I've got that feeling again.... It's been a rough week and I've been trying to get over my jet lag and get my new Mac Book Pro set up. I think I succeeded with the jet lag but not so much with the laptop situation. I hate IT issues, I've got help coming on Wednesday so wish me luck!

Anyway, on to the mani.... This weekend has been really cold and grey and I just wanted something bright to cheer me up. I got my OPI Euro collection a few weeks ago and I wanted to try them out so I chose OPI Suzi's Hungry Again! which is a bright pinky coral creme. Application was great as you would expect and I used 2 coats for this mani.

To add a little bling I did an easy glitter gradient using Lynnderella Do You See What I See from the 2012 Christmas collection. I love the colour clash, it really shows off both polishes and feels really summery, now all I need is the sunshine rather than the snow we're predicted tomorrow!

It kinda reminds me of watermelon.........

Lynnderella Angel Food

Hope you have all had a nice weekend, it's Sunday night here and I'm starting to get that Monday morning feeling......

 

Anyway, you know, recently I've worn a few mani's that I just didn't love, I haven't posted them yet but I will. In fact I wore them for a day and couldn't wait to take them off! I tried different bases for something I thought I'd love but just couldn't make it work. Today is a different story.

 

Today I'm wearing the impossibly beautiful Lynnderella Angel Food. I just can't describe this polish so you're just going to have to look at my swatches. It has a milky base and I really think it's best layered over something similar, I chose 3 coats of IsaDora Icy Lilacs which was a perfect match. If you wanted to make this a bit pinker you could just choose a slightly pinker base.

 

I used 2 coats of Angel Food, a coat of Gelous and a coat of HK Girl.

 

These pictures were taken in my light box but when I went out in the evening light this mani just glowed. If I can capture it I will update the post tomorrow. LOVE!

Lynnderella Seasons Glitterings

So, I'm still eeking out the holiday season by wearing my holiday polishes and I recently got an amazing Lynnderella Haul which you'll be able to see if a few days in my December Haul post, which I can see will be massive by the way..... opps!

Anyway, today is Season's Glitterings from the newest Lynnderella collection. I layered this over 1 coat of Barry M Gelly Watermelon which, by the way is so amazing I am buying the rest and I'll do seperate posts on.

I topped this with a coat of HK Girl topcoat and it was suprisingly smooth, except for that star which needed another coat.

I loved this mani, it's just so Christmassy!

OPI Casino Royale and Lynnderella Shape Shifter

This post features what are probably my 2 favourite brand of polish,: OPI and Lynnderella.

I've been itching to wear some of the new Skyfall colours, the collection has some really gorgeous cremes which are really a staple for me but I tend to find they can be a bit boring so what better way to jazz them up then some glitter. Some Lynnderella glitter!

For this mani I used 2 coats of OPI Casino Royale and then 2 coats of Lynnderella Shapeshifter as an accent nail. I love the combination of dark creme and sparkly holographic silver. So pretty! The only disappointment was that my Shape Shifter didn't have many shapes. I got mine from Llarowe back when she started selling Lynns so I don't really know what happened with the formulation there, oh well I guess it's a good excuse to get one of the new formulation Shape Shifters!

Lynnderella She Lived In A Swamp

Happy Halloween!!

Well I wore this mani when I got back from my honeymoon a few weeks ago, this Lynn had arrived in the post and I had to wear it straight away. I am wearing a nice halloween mani today but I didn't get a chance to take pictures so I'll show you another day. I thought this suited the occasion anyway!

For the base I used 2 coats of OPI Here Today Argon Tomorrow Suede and 2 coats of Lynnderella She Lived In A Swamp new version, topped off with 2 coats of topcoat. This really was a gorgeous combination, I did get a little curling of the glitter as you might be able to see but to be honest it really didn't bother me at all, it was a few of the bar glitters which stuck up the most and I just cut one or two of them. In real life this mani was even more sparkly than the photo's show and I got a spontaneous compliment from my new husband too - perfect!

Hope you guys got more treats than tricks today. I'm off to eat some candy......

My Wedding Mani

So, after all this work and preparation I got married last Friday, the 5th October 2012.

I can't tell you what a lovely day it was and we have been recovering ever since! It is such a special day to have all of your closest familily and friends in one room but wow, it is exhaustung.  I'm writing this post about 15 minutes before I leave for the airport to go to Mauritius this evening. Do you think 12 polishes is too many to take for a 10 days honeymoon????

Anyway, I wanted a wedding mani that would be subtle yet not boring and when I looked back on it I would remember my nail polish obsession at the time and the types of polishes that were available when I got married. I chose 2 coats of each of Sally Hansen Garter Toss, Girly Bits January Morning and Lynnderella Love, Lace and Lilacs. It was a perfect combination.

I absolutely loved wearing this on the day, it was exactly what I wanted.

I can't wait to see the pictures when I get back from honeymoon!

I don't have many pictures to show you until I get back but I just had to include a few. Here we are on our special day - the British weather even held out for us to have pictures taken outside. It was perfect!

Lynnderella Lavandear

I know Lynnderella polishes cause a bit of emotional response in our  crazy polish loving world but I have been so lucky to get quite a few of these polishes so for that I really am grateful. I love my Lynns and I want to wear them and share them on here and isn't that what polish loving is all about??

Lynn's blog is closed now but when swatches were posted she had described Lavandear as a blend of lavender multi-sized hexagons and squares with a touch of holographic pink in a sheer pink-violet base with a hint of iridescent blue shimmer. In other words it really is pretty!

I teamed this gorgeous polish with a base layer coat of OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender which is quite a close match in colour to this polish. This is 2 coats of Lavandear, one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

OMG, I have a blog.......... and some news..........

OK, so I woke up yesterday and just decided (with some encouragement from my awesome birthday group girls) that I wanted to do a blog. This will be purely for fun, and is not serious, so it will just be random posts from time to time to help remind me of my mani's and track my progress, that type of thing. I spent all day yesterday creating my stash list, boy, do I have a lot more than I thought I did!!! It was fun and as it's Valentine's day and my birthday today I thought I might do my 1st post....

But little did I know that my lovely boyfriend would give me another reason to post and make this a REALLY special first post.........

Yes, that's an engagement ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh............. I'm so excited!! I just had to document it and share. What a fabulous day, I was TOTALLY shocked. It just doesn't get any better than this.

I also recieved another wonderful surprise, a package from my friend in Singapore. I know what those bubble mailers look like and tore into it and what did I find??

Wing It by OPI, which was one of my Lemmings. It's gorgeous and I had to wear this special polish to celebrate my day with.
