Flock, Flocking, Flocked.....

Well, I'm not sure what to call these but this is my mani using a pretty pink flocking powder which has a tiny little bit of microglitter.

Actually I bought a bunch of flocking powder in my local craft store on sale so thought I may as well try it. I didn't think I'd like it but hey I think I may have been wrong!

I think they look cute and not super weird like I thought they might:

I'm going to update this post tomorrow when I've washed my hands a few times and had a shower so I'll let you know how it wears. The base is A-England Iseult which is a polish I love.

If you want a good explaination of what to do look at this website, xojane, which also has a cute cookie monster mani.

I was lucky enough to get a selection of flocking powders from Dunelm Mill which was on sale for only 99p a pack:

What do you think?? Is this something you'd try??

EDITED TO ADD: I have been wearing this mani for a little less than 24 hours and it has held up quite well considering. It has developed a couple of bald patches which I think is my fault - basically when I put the flocking powder on my nails I scooped it straight on from the little pot but it did have a few little lumps which I didn't realise at first - I would recommend that you tip it out and smooth out all the lumps first because I think that these couple of bald patches is where the powder had a few little lumps and then was a little thick and so came off my nails more quickly.  I've been in the shower, washed my hair, changed the bed, put washing on, all the usual stuff with this mani, it's a bit flat now and looks more like a matte polish than flocking but it was fun and I will be doing it again I think.

Oh, I also forgot to add that cat hair gets stuck to the fibres so if you have a pet expect that to happen - it made me laugh and it does stain if you choose a light colour but both are easy to get rid of by just brushing your nails on a paper towel or something. Don't let that put you off, this is fun!

Thanks so much for commenting. I took off the annoying verification thing so I thought I better add some moderation to avoid spam messages, you know what the internet is like!

Anyway, it's great to get comments and I'll verify them as soon as they get to me.
