Nails Inc Leather Effect Shoreditch Lane

Happy Sunday everyone! We have had snow all day and it's been beautiful, I just love the snow. The streets are white and the houses covered and I stayed in all day watching it all and drinking hot chocolate in front of the fire. What could be better than that?!

I received my Nails Inc QVC TSV yesterday and so straight away had to put on the new leather effects polish which was included. Now, I will be the first to say I haven't really been too excited like everyone else seems to have been about this effect and if it hadn't been included in the TSV I wouldn't have purchased on on it's own. However they are such great value that I thought why not??

So here we have the Nails Inc leather effect polish called Shoreditch Lane. It is a sort of light burgandy colour and apparently it is being released by Nails Inc on the 1st March.

For these swatches I used a base coat, 1 coat of polish and that was it. The first time I tried it I used two coats and found that I just didn't get the leather effect on most of the nail so I redid it and found that the polish dried much faster and hence the leather effect made an appearance.

I did find this polish hard to work with as it is really quite thick and my brush wasn't as even as it should have been. I am not a big fan of Nails Inc handles so that probably didn't help much either.....

So, does it look like leather? I don't know to be honest. It is textured and it was quite rough on the nail, my husband touched it and said 'Yuck!'. I don't really know what to think of it but the fact that I took it off after a few hours becuase I wanted to play with the remover probably says it all. It was ok but just not really for me, it kinda reminds me of roughing up your nails when your topcoat isn't dry and you have to go to bed......

What do you think?

  1. hmm, an unusual idea for a polish - i don't think i'd be too keen on it either! i agree it does look like it's been smudged after you've been to bed! lovely colour though :) and i've had a great day watching the snow too!

  3. Yes I kind of agree Genevieve, if I had worn it more I would have probably gotten used to it but I certainly think the texture is strange, I wonder how I'll find the liquid sands??

Thanks so much for commenting. I took off the annoying verification thing so I thought I better add some moderation to avoid spam messages, you know what the internet is like!

Anyway, it's great to get comments and I'll verify them as soon as they get to me.
